Profile

About Me:
A flamenco guitar that produces the vibrations of the Mediterranean sounds, in the search for the magical Sicilian “duende”. This is the music of Saro, pleasant melodies joined together as in the best Italian tradition, but also with a fusion of Spanish flamenco and Latin rhythms having the resonance of popular Sicilian music. In the background, you can hear the sounds of Greek, Arabic and Indian echoes. It’s a style that brings him closer to the universe of New Flamenco and World Music.

Hi Saro , on production
I often get asked to do remixes for people
when they need 'fresh ears' on sessions that have gone 'stale'
for reasons they can't quite figure or fix .
I'm a bit of a purist and just really enjoy bringing new life
into tracks , I like 'real' sounds that are right 'in your face' .
I feel that sometimes technology and its demands on the musician
get in the way of their music and steal the soul , intent and integrity
of the initial ideas .

I set challenges for the players too ..
recently I did a mix for a friend who was a bit scared and troubled
by the way it exposed his voice and guitar .
The band loved it but were unable to reproduce it live .

I set them up with one mic and a single monitor mix to headphones
and got them to balance themselves as a band in the 'cans' ..
then got them to take the cans off and play the same tune again
without adjusting anything...
they were staggered by how quietly they were all playing ..
especially the drummer !!

It has radically changed what they do live !!

It's made their live sound engineer's life easier too ..
( I think he loves me !?? )
and their performances have a totally new dynamic edge .

A new album is interesting. If it's not much trouble for to submit a cd you are allways welcome, or I buy the new album. :)
I found some festivals, like carnival of cultures, but it's not a good festival for your kind of music i think. Better is Fete de la Musique, i think this festival is also in Roma, but also in Berlin.
The german website is: http://www.fetedelamusique.de/ , but i didn't found an englisch version of this, only the application form
This might be interesting for you, i look for some more.

Austria sounds great. Hope I can go there, but it's a long distance from Berlin to Linz but I'll do my best.
Yes, indeed I write reviews about CDs for sterelogy (actually you could only see interviews, news or concert reviews from me, because the special CD section (Video Game Music) is not only, but in the next month it will be).
